During my tenure with the USAID-funded Liberia Community Infrastructure Program (LCIP), I played a key role in managing and supporting development initiatives across Bong, Nimba, and Lofa Counties. My responsibilities centered on agriculture, community infrastructure, and economic recovery in post-conflict communities.
I successfully oversaw more than USD $1.5 million in grants, ensuring that all funds were allocated responsibly, delivered measurable impact, and complied with USAID financial and operational standards. This included:
Project Identification & Design: Supporting communities and local partners in identifying priority needs in agriculture, feeder road rehabilitation, and small-scale infrastructure.
Grant Management: Monitoring budgets, reviewing proposals, tracking expenditures, and ensuring compliance with USAID reporting and audit requirements.
Community Engagement: Working closely with farmer groups, cooperatives, youth organizations, and local government to strengthen ownership and sustainability.
Infrastructure Implementation: Coordinating rural infrastructure projects such as community roads, storage facilities, processing units, and essential social structures.
Agriculture Support: Facilitating grants focused on crop production, value-chain strengthening, and food security initiatives.
Monitoring & Evaluation: Conducting field assessments, documenting progress, producing reports, and ensuring projects met performance indicators.
Through these efforts, LCIP contributed to improved livelihoods, stronger community institutions, and enhanced economic stability in some of Liberia’s most vulnerable regions.
