ACDI/VOCA LIFE III ‘’Farmers Field School (2015-2017)

Farmer field school training for cocoa farmers in twenty communities in Grand Gedeh and River Gee Counties working with over 600 farmers.

Commercial hybrid cocoa seedling nursery for over 100,000 seedlings for farmers in Grand Gedeh, River Gee and Bong Counties

Improved oil palm seedling Nurseries for over 6,000 seedlings for farmers in Bong County.

Survey and mapping of farms for farmers in areas of interventions.

Objective: Train cocoa farmers and establish commercial seedling nurseries.

Details:

• Worked with 600 farmers across 20 communities in Grand Gedeh and River Gee Counties.
• Established commercial cocoa nurseries producing 100,000 hybrid cocoa seedlings.
• Developed 6,000 improved oil palm seedlings for farmers in Bong County.
• Conducted farm mapping and surveys to support farmers.
