Catalyst Liberia Inc. has been at the forefront of enhancing rice production through irrigated lowland rice farming. By rehabilitating and developing paddy fields, Catalyst supports smallholder farmers in improving their productivity and food security. The organization has successfully implemented projects that include the construction of irrigation infrastructure such as canals, bunds, head dykes, and earthen dams.
These structures ensure a stable water supply, reducing dependence on rainfall and mitigating the risks of drought. Through training programs, farmers are equipped with knowledge on land preparation, water management, and best agricultural practices to boost yields. By integrating rice cultivation with other crops, Catalyst enhances sustainable farming and maximizes land use efficiency.
