TREE CROPS

Tree Crops

At Catalyst Liberia Incorporated, tree crop development is a cornerstone of our rural transformation strategy. With decades of agricultural expertise, we work with smallholder farmers to establish, rehabilitate, and sustainably manage high-value perennial crops that boost income, improve food security, and enhance climate resilience.

Our tree crops program focuses on:

  • Hybrid Cocoa Production – Establishing nurseries and distributing high-yield, disease-resistant cocoa seedlings to improve farm productivity and farmer income.

  • Oil Palm Cultivation – Supporting farmers with improved planting materials, cultivation techniques, and value addition opportunities.

  • Rubber Development – Providing technical support for new and existing plantations to ensure sustainable tapping and latex production.

We combine modern agricultural practices with community-based training to ensure farmers can adopt climate-smart methods, access quality planting materials, and tap into profitable markets. By linking farmers to processing facilities and buyers, we help create sustainable value chains that benefit both producers and communities.

Our track record includes:

  • Establishing 100,000+ hybrid cocoa seedlings through nursery programs.

  • Supporting oil palm expansion with improved planting techniques and farmer cooperatives.

  • Enhancing rubber production through training in sustainable harvesting and processing.

Through strategic partnerships and our Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) approach, Catalyst Liberia empowers farming communities to turn tree crops into long-term sources of livelihood, paving the way for sustainable rural prosperity.

Support Catalyst Liberia in empowering communities through agriculture and development!
